ATV tours -- fantastic!  We rate this among the 3 most fun things we did in the Enchanted Circle (along with the hot-air balloon ride and scenic railroad).

We took a 3-hour tour into the Carson forest.  Our guide, Art (lower left on pictures to the right), was one of the nicest people we've ever met.  He pointed out many areas of historical significance as well as the flora and fauna of the region.  He knows the area extremely well and was constantly concerned for our comfort and safety, as well as making sure we had a good time.  We did!

The bumps were amazingly mild on my back because the ATV's had such nice suspension, but handicapped persons should still consider that.

The ATV's are big, new, and nice.  Their power is quite sufficient for the mountains, and they are easy to operate.  They have a floor brake -- a consideration for anyone with leg issues.

The tour goes through the Carson National Forest, and we saw where Lonesome Dove was filmed (picture below).  The scenery can't be described, and with the ATV tour, you're right in the middle of it.  The pictures will give you an idea of what it looks like, but there's nothing like experiencing it for yourself.

At the time of this update, we've taken this tour three times -- we don't have the pictures in yet from the 3rd trip.  We've been lucky enough to get Art all 3 times.  We're sure all the guides are good, but we think Art must be the best!

They have never even hinted for a tip, but the customary tip is $20 per machine.
